Choosing the Correct StomaCloak

Do you use a 1-Piece Pouch System or a 2-Piece Pouch System?  If you have a separate barrier/wafer and ostomy pouch that you “click” together, you are using a 2-Piece Pouch System.  If your pouch sticks directly to your skin with out a separate barrier/wafer, then you use a 1-Piece System.

One-Piece Systems are easy because it’s one-size-fits all!  Simply select the “One Piece” StomaCloak.

Two-Piece Pouch Systems use the following standard sizes:

Hollister/ConvaTec: 1 3/4 inches (44mm), 2 1/4 inches (57mm), 2 3/4 inches (70mm), and 4 inches (102mm).  Your wafer size, is listed on the side of your box, and it will correspond to the StomaCloak size.

Coloplast: 2 inches (40mm), 2 1/2 inches (50mm), 2 3/4 inches (70mm).  Your wafer size, is listed on the side of your box, and it will correspond to the StomaCloak size.

If we do not have a StomaCloak that directly aligns with your wafer size, simply select the next larger StomaCloak.  For example, if you are using a 60mm wafer, and we do not have a 60mm StomaCloak available, you would select the 2 3/4 (70mm) StomaCloak size.

Hollister and ConvaTec also use color coded wafers.  If your box has a colored dot, use the table below to easily find your StomaCloak size:

Remember to Check the Length of your Pouch

It is also important to select the correct length.  We have two lengths available for most products.  Simply measure your appliance to choose the correct length.  Use the diagram below to determine pouch length, and if you’re unsure about your stoma opening, you can see how to measure the diameter of the opening.  Please call 231-788-8086 for more assistance if needed.
